Get your auto-entrepreneur status with Hany
Hany guides professionals from start to finish to obtain their auto-entrepreneur card in Morocco and work legally with peace of mind.
What is the auto-entrepreneur status?
The auto-entrepreneur status is a simplified regime created by the Moroccan government that lets an individual run a freelance activity (services, trade or crafts) with light taxation and minimal paperwork.
- No company creation needed — you work under your own name.
- No minimum capital, no complex accounting.
- An official auto-entrepreneur card issued by the state.
- Access to social health coverage (AMO) and a pension.

Most pros on Hany work at the customer’s home: plumbers, electricians, painters, gas delivery drivers, AC technicians, cleaners… Holding an official status protects you, gives you access to social security and lets you issue compliant invoices. Hany handles your file at no cost.

Are you eligible?
To benefit from the status, you must:
- Be of legal age (18 or older).
- Be Moroccan or a foreigner with legal residency in Morocco.
- Not be employed for the same activity.
- Not already be listed in the trade register for a similar activity.
- Run a non-regulated activity (doctors, lawyers, notaries, architects and accountants are not eligible).
Taxation and ceilings
The auto-entrepreneur regime is intentionally simple:
- Annual ceiling: MAD 200,000 for services, MAD 500,000 for trade and crafts.
- 1% income tax on collected revenue for services.
- 0.5% for trade and craft activities.
- Above MAD 80,000 per year billed to the same client, the surplus is subject to a 30% withholding tax by that client.
- Quarterly or monthly revenue declaration.
Exceeding the ceilings two years in a row automatically switches you to a higher tax regime (CPU, RNS or RNR).
